When building a new home, your HVAC contractor also has the opportunity to size the cooling and heating system to meet the demands of your home and size your ducts to work effectively with a zoned system.  

You and your contractor can decide together which areas of your home you would like to place in different zones. Most homes are typically two to four zones. For example, many homes can be divided into two areas or zones such as living areas and the sleeping areas that are used during the same time.  But zoning decisions come down to the comfort level and convenience you want to achieve and the amount you want to invest.
