AHRI members and invited guests are invited to join us November 10–12 for the 2019 AHRI Leadership Forum, to be held at the beautiful Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Golf & Beach Resort in Puerto Rico. This event is being carefully designed to feature dynamic speakers, stronger peer engagement opportunities, and leadership presentations to help AHRI member companies advance their goals and get the most from their AHRI membership.
The Leadership Forum, now in its second year, brings together industry leaders to discuss our industry’s most pressing issues in a setting conducive to peer interaction and collaboration. This year’s Forum will place a particular focus on cybersecurity and its impact on our member companies. The gathering will also serve as the meeting place for AHRI’s four Industry Sectors, as well as the Leadership Councils and certain standing committees. View the schedule at-a-glance.
Key events are outlined below. View the schedule at-a-glance for more details.
OPENING SESSION: Need-to-Know Presentation
The opening session of the Leadership Forum will feature a video report of recent association activities and plans for the future from each of our Industry Sectors. That will be followed by a panel discussion by AHRI legislative and regulatory staff on up-to-the-minute developments affecting our industry at the state, federal, and international levels.

STRATEGIC SESSION: Cybersecurity Threat Detection and Response: Is the HVACR Industry Prepared?
This session begins with an exciting joint presentation by Chris Tarbell – former FBI special agent and one of the nation’s most successful cybersecurity law enforcement officials – and notorious former hacker Hector Monsegur. Together, they will share an insider’s look at the cyber threats faced by modern businesses today and the story of Monsegur’s path from co-founder of the hacking group LulzSec to federal informant. A panel discussion will follow their presentation, with a spotlight on the direct impact of cybersecurity on our industry.
Industry Sectors will look ahead to 2020 and beyond to identify the certification, regulatory, standards, codes, and legislative issues that must be addressed to be prepared for the future. For maximum effectiveness, companies that participate in more than one sector should plan to have at least one staff member in attendance at each relevant sector meeting.
