Public Affairs

We have continued to expand our presence on social media and support the initiatives of our workforce development and government affairs teams, while educating homeowners and policy makers about the value of our industry and the important work of our member companies. At the same time, we regularly engage with the media to provide input and commentary on legislative and regulatory proposals that affect our members. AHRI has been quoted in, or contributed to, a number of news stories this year, including:

  • The Washington Post
  • The New York Times
  • The Wall Street Journal
  • The Chicago Tribune
  • The Los Angeles Times
  • The Washington Examiner
  • Politico
  • The Hill
  • Roll Call
  • Environment & Energy Daily
  • Scientific American
  • Bloomberg
  • Axios
  • Morning Consult

This year, AHRI has issued weekly Reinvent newsletters to keep members informed of implementation plans. Details on Reinvent are maintained on a dedicated web page, and a new brochure will be available at the 2019 Leadership Forum and online. New sector-focused monthly newsletters will provide members with updates related to ongoing work in their respective sectors.

The 2019 Leadership Forum event mobile app is now available on any portable device. This tutorial highlights all of the app's features, including instructions on how to download it. The first time you log in, your username is the email you used to register for the meeting, and your password is your last name in all lowercase letters.

Next year’s Spring Meeting will be held May 18-20, at the Marriott Marquis in Washington DC. The Marquis is a beautiful new property located in the heart of D.C., and we are very excited to be able to host the Spring Meeting there.
