(Arlington, VA) — Mascots from the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, and Georgetown Hoyas visited Capitol Hill Monday night to attend a Congressional Reception in the Rayburn House Office Building Foyer. More than 200 Congressional staffers kicked off the August recess at a reception that featured G-Wiz, Slapshot, and the Hoyas’ Jack, all while learning more about the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and water heating industry, and the more than one million jobs it creates and sustains in the United States.

“It is a pleasure for AHRI and our partners to host this event each year,” said AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek. “We host this event specifically for House and Senate staff during the August District Work Period, because we want to acknowledge their hard work and dedication as we remind them and the entire nation’s capital that our industry is committed each day to supporting the health, comfort, safety, and productivity of the American people.”

The event was hosted by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI); the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA); the Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI); the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors (PHCC); and North American Technician Excellence.
