Golf

Sunday, November 12

Steeped in a rich country club tradition is the Miller Golf Course. Shorter than the Soffer Course, on which our tournament will be played, this shot-maker’s layout requires solid drives and pinpoint irons. Rolling fairways framed by mature ficus, banyan, and olive trees put a premium on accuracy at every hole. Try not to be distracted by the pink flamingos nesting on Lake Julius. The Miller Course is a strategic gem.

AHRI will not be hosting a golf tournament on Sunday, but will instead be assisting with scheduled tee times, which will run from 7:30 AM – 8:20 AM as well as from 12:30 PM - 1:20 PM.

Cost is $230 plus tax per person; club rentals are $85 plus tax. Golf rounds and club rentals will be an individual expense. If you bring your own clubs, you may store them at the resort for the duration of your stay. Upon arrival, you may leave your golf bag with the valet/bell staff.

To schedule a Sunday morning or afternoon tee time and for foursome requests, contact Jeff Stewart – Golf Sales & Events Manager at the Turnberry Resort at [email protected] or by phone at 305-933-6929.

    Monday, November 13

During this special event, spouses are invited to take part in the Literacy League’s Literacy Book Bundle Project, which promotes literacy and mentorship to children in pre-school through third grade who attend schools in less-advantaged neighborhoods.

Participants will have the opportunity to create and personalize book bundles that include a child size, no-sew superhero cape, books, a personalized bookmark, and a note of encouragement.

Jenny Del Valle, committee chair for the Literacy League, will lead the group through the book bundle activity and provide information on the League and the schools your donations will serve.

Cost is $150 per person. Minimum 15 guests required.

Home to PGA and LPGA events, the Soffer course offers a risk and reward scenario on nearly every hole. Avoid the creeks that crisscross several fairways, beware of lagoons that creep into many landing areas and challenge yourself with the newly implemented Tif Eagle greens that provide consistent green speed. When you reach 18, prepare for a par four that tests your fortitude with a picturesque peninsula green sitting on a legendary finishing hole. The Soffer Course is a champion masterpiece.

The tournament will be scored using the Modified Stableford scoring system.

Foursome pairings will be provided prior to the Leadership Forum.

Cost is $245 per person, which includes green fees, cart fees, professional tournament management, Forecaddie service, personalized scorecards, bag handling gratuity, taxes, shotgun start, box lunches, and beverages. Golf commitment may be canceled without financial obligation until October 13, 2023, after which, the fee will not be refunded; however, player substitutions are allowed. Email [email protected].

If you bring your own clubs, you may store them at the resort for the duration of your stay. Upon arrival, you may leave your golf bag with the valet/bell staff. If you need your clubs at any time during your stay, simply notify the golf shop. Tournament players’ clubs will be preloaded to carts on the day of the tournament. The resort recommends ShipSticks to guests choosing to ship their clubs in advance.

Because we will use the Modified Stableford scoring system, it is important that you include your handicap in the Registration Questions section of the event registration.

Rental clubs for men and women are available at the Golf Club for $85 plus tax per set. Please indicate right- or left-handed clubs in the space provided for your foursome request.
