AHRI Vice President Visits Member Company Hisense-Hitachi

On September 27, AHRI Vice President of Asia Operations Bridge Xue visited Hisense-Hitachi in Qingdao, China and met with its Vice President, Zhang Wenqiang. The two discussed industry developments impacting the global market, such as the new efficiency requirement for unitary small equipment, updates to the controller verification procedure (CVP) under the VRF standard, the A2L refrigerant transition in North America, and recent changes to the global part load value for chillers. AHRI Vice President Attends 2024 HARFKO Expo in South Korea

From September 22-26, AHRI’s Vice President of Asia Operations Bridge Xue attended the HARFKO Expo in Seoul, South Korea. During the expo, he led a presentation on the status of the U.S. refrigerant transition and how implementation of Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax incentives could impact manufacturers in South Korea. The presentation was attended by stakeholders from several different organizations, including KRAIA, CRAA, JRAIA, EPEE, and AHRI members in South Korea. 

Before attending the expo, Xue visited with several AHRI member companies to provide market updates impacting manufacturers of chillers, AHUs and liquid-to-liquid heat exchangers. Contact: Bridge Xue

AHRI President & CEO Meets with Regulatory Official in Anhui, China

<p>Description automatically generatedOn September 12, AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek met in China with the Director of Market Regulation for the Anhui province, Han Yongsheng.  During the meeting, he thanked her for her support of AHRI’s China Office and provided a briefing on recent industry activities and trends.

During the meeting, Mrs. Han explained changes in the local market and discussed the possibility of a joint effort with AHRI to support manufacturers on regulation development and global market access. AHRI Officials Attend 2024 International Forum

On September 11, AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek, Senior Vice President of Global Operations Henry Hwong, and Vice President of Asia Operations Bridge Xue attended the 2024 International Forum on Sustainable Development of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry in Hefei, China.

During the forum, Yurek provided updates on U.S. progress in the current refrigerant transition progress in implementing U.S.  and equipment tax incentive program, and the latest information on the U.S. regulatory landscape. He also met with a number of government officials and business executives, including representatives from China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association (CRAA), as well as the CEO of Sanhua Group, and senior staff from other AHRI member companies in China.
